Rear shock absorber replacement tutorial
Replacing post-shock absorbers is a process that requires a certain degree of skill and precision. Here are the steps to replace the shock absorber:
Use a jack or lift to lift the vehicle so that there is enough room for replacement work.
Loosen and remove the wheel, if using a lift, you do not need to completely remove the wheel.
Depending on the model and shock absorber design, it may be necessary to remove the retaining bolts for the brake subpump or the front underbridge control arm, as well as the retaining nuts for the spring support arm.
Use a caliper jack to secure the shock absorber arm, loosen and remove the retaining nut on the upper end of the shock absorber, then turn the caliper jack to separate the lower end of the shock absorber from the front axle.
After removing the shock absorber, grease and assemble the new shock absorber, taking care to check the piston rod and surface of the shock absorber for damage or oil leakage.
The upper support, buffer block, dust cover and other components of the new shock absorber are assembled, and then fixed to the vehicle as per the original.
Ensure that all fastening bolts and nuts are properly tightened to prevent shock absorbers from loosening or falling off during driving.
After the replacement is completed, four-wheel positioning is carried out to ensure the stability and safety of the vehicle.
Throughout the process, make sure to use the correct tools and equipment and follow the manufacturer's instruction manual. If you are not familiar with car maintenance, it is recommended to seek the help of professional technicians.
