Front axle construction
The finished front axle is composed of I-beam, steering knuckle, steering tie rod, wheel hub, brake and other parts.
I-beam
I-beam is the whole die forging forming, the section is "work" font, so it is called "I-beam". The I-beam is forged into one with the front leaf spring seat. In order to avoid interference with the engine oil pan, there is a downward drop in the middle. The I-beam material is generally carbon steel or Cr steel and is modulated, and the design will minimize the quality under the premise of ensuring the strength.
Knuckle
The steering knuckle is installed at both ends of the I-beam through the kingpin, bears the load of the front of the car, supports and drives the front wheel to rotate around the kingpin and makes the car turn. In the driving state of the car, it bears variable impact loads, therefore, it is required to have high strength and is a security piece on the car.
Steering tie rod
The tie rod is connected to the left and right steering knuckle arms and is used to transfer the steering force from the steering gear to the left and right wheels.
Hub
The wheel hub is one of the most important safety parts on the car, it carries the pressure of the car and the load mass, is affected by the dynamic torque of the vehicle in the starting and braking, and also bears the irregular alternating force of the car in the driving process, such as turning, convex road surface, obstacle impact and other dynamics from different directions.
Brake
The brake is the mechanical part that stops or slows down the car when it is moving, commonly known as the brake and brake.
