Gasoline pump.
The function of the gasoline pump is to suck the gasoline out of the tank and press it through the pipe and the gasoline filter to the float chamber of the carburetor. Diaphragm type gasoline pump
Diaphragm type gasoline pump is a representative of mechanical gasoline pump, used in carburetor engine, generally driven by eccentric wheel on the camshaft, its working situation is:
① Oil suction camshaft rotation, when the eccentric top shake arm, pull down the pump film rod, pump film down, produce suction, gasoline will be sucked out from the tank, and through the oil pipe, gasoline filter, into the oil chamber of the gasoline pump.
② Pump oil When the eccentric turns a certain Angle and no longer tops the shake arm, the pump film spring is stretched, the pump film rises, and the gasoline is pressed from the oil outlet valve to the float chamber of the carburetor.
The diaphragm type gasoline pump is characterized by its simple structure, but due to the thermal effects of the engine, special attention should be paid to ensuring the pump oil performance at high temperatures, as well as the durability of the rubber material's diaphragm to heat and oil.
The maximum oil supply of the general gasoline pump is 2.5 to 3.5 times larger than the maximum fuel consumption of the gasoline engine. When the pump oil is greater than the fuel consumption and the needle valve of the carburetor float chamber is closed, the pressure in the oil pump outlet line increases, reacts to the oil pump, and the diaphragm travel is shortened or stops working.
Electric gasoline pump
Electric gasoline pump, not driven by camshaft, but by electromagnetic force repeatedly suction pump film. The electric pump can freely choose the installation position, and can prevent the phenomenon of air resistance.
The main installation types of electric gasoline pumps for gasoline injection engines are installed in the oil supply line or in the gasoline tank. The former has a large layout, does not require special design of gasoline tank, and is easy to install and disassemble. However, the oil pump suction section is long, easy to produce air resistance, and the working noise is larger, in addition, the oil pump must not leak, and this type has been less used on the current new vehicles. The latter fuel pipeline is simple, low noise, multi-fuel leakage requirements are not high, is the current main trend.
At work, in addition to providing the consumption required for engine operation, the flow of the gasoline pump should also ensure that there is sufficient return flow to ensure the pressure stability of the fuel system and sufficient cooling.
