Throttle - A controlled valve that controls the flow of air into the engine.
The throttle valve is a controlled valve that controls the air into the engine. It is connected to the air filter and the engine block, which is known as the throat of the car engine.
Throttle four-stroke gasoline engines are roughly like this. Throttle is one of the most important components of today's engine system, its upper part is the air filter air grid, the lower part is the engine block, is the throat of the car engine. Whether the car accelerates flexibly has a great relationship with the dirt of the throttle, and the cleaning of the throttle can reduce fuel consumption and make the engine flexible and strong. The throttle should not be removed for cleaning, but also the focus of the owners to discuss more.
The traditional engine throttle control mechanism is through a cable (soft steel wire) or pull rod, one end is connected to the accelerator pedal, the other end is connected to the throttle coupling plate and work. The electronic throttle valve mainly uses the throttle position sensor to control the opening Angle of the throttle valve according to the energy required by the engine, so as to adjust the size of the air intake.
Blow off gas
Oil in use will be heated volatilization, the longer the use time, the higher the temperature, the stronger the volatilization, plus the cylinder compressed gas will be squeezed into the crankcase through the gap of the piston ring, so there must be a channel to discharge the gas, otherwise the oil bottom will form positive pressure.
Negative pressure pumping
The reason why the crankcase ventilation pipe is connected to the throttle valve is on the one hand, environmental requirements, and on the other hand, the negative pressure of the intake air is extracted from the crankcase. When the oily steam reaches the intake pipe, it becomes cold, and the oil will condense on the intake pipe and throttle valve, and the carbon included in the steam will also be deposited in these parts, because the gap opened by the throttle valve has the largest air flow, the space is small, and the gas temperature is low, so this part is the most easy to condense.
Cleaning frequency
Therefore, how long the throttle will be dirty depends on the quality of the air filter, the brand of the oil used, the quality, the condition of the driving section, the air temperature condition, the engine operating temperature, driving habits and so on. Even as far as the individual is concerned, it is not possible to use a fixed number of kilometers to determine the cleaning throttle time, the new car first cleaning throttle interval is the longest, later due to the continuous condensation of oil and gas in the crankcase ventilation pipe and inlet, the cleaning frequency will increase, and different weather will also affect the speed of the throttle dirty.
Cleaning attention to the problem
If the throttle sludge is too much, it may cause the engine to accelerate poorly, increase fuel consumption, which is a big worry for the owners, then how to deal with the dirty throttle? Cleaning is done, go to the 4S shop quickly can be done, but not every cleaning must go to the 4S shop? Actually, you can do it yourself, just don't forget to initialize.
First of all, put a little oil on the fixed metal bundle ring to avoid the phenomenon of sliding teeth when disassembling. Remove the metal ring of the throttle hose, remove the hose, the left end is the position of the throttle, remove the negative electrode of the battery, turn off the ignition switch, turn the throttle plate straight, spray a small amount of "carburetor cleaning agent" into the throttle, and then use polyester cloth or high-spun "non-woven cloth" carefully scrub, deep in the throttle, out of reach of the hand can be used to clamp the rag carefully scrub.
Cleaning the throttle can not be disassembled, but be sure to clean the sealing part of the steam inlet, the idle motor must be removed before it can be cleaned, the fuel nozzle borrowing and cleaning have advantages and disadvantages, in general, the maintenance station recommends no cleaning, to prevent other unnecessary waste, such as the need to replace the sealing ring or some other gasket installation after removal. Or in the disassembly process, oil leakage, gas and other phenomena delay the time of the owner.
After cleaning, and then according to the procedure just removed, install the throttle to start the initialization, cleaning the throttle, initialization is necessary, because the computer adjusts the throttle opening, there is a memory function, because there was a blockage of sludge before, in order to ensure the intake volume, the computer will automatically adjust the throttle opening, so that the intake is in a normal state.
After cleaning, there is no sludge blockage, if the throttle still maintains the previous opening, then it will cause excessive intake, and the consequence is that the engine shakes when starting, and the acceleration is weak, the engine failure light may also be lit.
So why is it that sometimes the engine can work without initialization after cleaning the throttle? That's because the throttle is not too dirty, and after cleaning, its intake has not changed much. However, the change of the throttle after cleaning can not be observed by the naked eye, so it should be initialized.
In fact, initialization is very simple, through a dedicated computer can be done, manual can also be done, but manual is not as fast as the computer, sometimes it will fail, failure does not matter, do it again. There are two ways to do initialization depending on the car:
Initial method
The first is to open the second gear of the key, that is, the gear that the instrument indicates is fully lit, and then wait 20 seconds, step on the accelerator to the end, hold for about 10 seconds, release the accelerator, turn off the ignition switch, pull out the key, and the initialization is complete.
The second is to turn the key on the second gear, hold it for 30 seconds, then turn off the ignition and pull out the key. It should be noted that after the two methods are done, you have to wait for a period of time before you can try to ignite, generally wait 15-20 seconds, and then ignite to see if the refueling is normal, whether the engine failure light is out, if a failure, do a second time, until it is successful, generally can be a success, at most two times.
However, according to the different cars, the method of restoration is not the same, and some cars must be initialized by a computer, if that is the case, it is recommended that the owner send the car to the shop with professional equipment to clean [1].

The composition of the electric throttle can be roughly divided into the following parts: throttle valve, electromagnetic drive, potentiometer, controller (some do not, directly by the ecu tube), by-pass valve. The fault characteristics are divided into two categories: hard fault and soft fault. Hard failure refers to mechanical damage, soft failure refers to dirt, misalignment and so on.
Hard fault
The resistance part of the potentiometer is to spray a layer of carbon film on the polyester substrate, which is actually a very low preparation process, and the wear resistance is not high. To put it bluntly, it is not as good as the potentiometer of our ordinary household appliances. The sliding contact is made of a row of steel reverse claws. Notice, reverse claws! This is just adding insult to injury! In addition, there is no protective agent on the carbon film, and the falling off of the carbon powder leads to poor contact, and the lighting is inevitable.
Soft fault
We are often troubled by cleaning the throttle because the throttle is open too low most of the time. The air flows through the throttle gap at a very high speed (tens to hundreds of meters/second), and the influence of the gradually accumulated dust on the air flow exceeds the adjustment ability of the throttle.
