The bonnet, also known as the hood, is the most visible body component and one of the parts that car buyers often look at. The main requirements for engine cover are heat insulation, sound insulation, light weight and strong rigidity.
The engine cover is generally composed of structure, sandwiched with heat insulation material, and the inner plate plays a role of strengthening rigidity. Its geometry is selected by the manufacturer, which is basically the skeleton form. When the bonnet is opened, it is generally turned back, but also a small part of it is turned forward.
The inverted engine cover should be opened at a predetermined Angle and should not be in contact with the front windshield. There should be a minimum spacing of about 10 mm. In order to prevent self-opening due to vibration during driving, the front end of the engine cover should be equipped with a safety lock hook locking device. The switch of the locking device is arranged under the dashboard of the carriage. When the car door is locked, the engine cover should also be locked at the same time.
