The diaphragm type gasoline pump is characterized by its simple structure, but due to the thermal effects of the engine, special attention should be paid to ensuring the pump oil performance at high temperatures, as well as the durability of the rubber material's diaphragm to heat and oil.
The maximum oil supply of the general gasoline pump is 2.5 to 3.5 times larger than the maximum fuel consumption of the gasoline engine. When the pump oil is greater than the fuel consumption and the needle valve of the carburetor float chamber is closed, the pressure in the oil pump outlet line increases, reacts to the oil pump, and the diaphragm travel is shortened or stops working.
Electric gasoline pump
Electric gasoline pump, not driven by camshaft, but by electromagnetic force repeatedly suction pump film. The electric pump can freely choose the installation position, and can prevent the phenomenon of air resistance.
The main installation types of electric gasoline pumps for gasoline injection engines are installed in the oil supply line or in the gasoline tank. The former has a large layout, does not require special design of gasoline tank, and is easy to install and disassemble. However, the oil pump suction section is long, easy to produce air resistance, and the working noise is larger, in addition, the oil pump must not leak, and this type has been less used on the current new vehicles.
