If the voltage measured is the battery voltage, it indicates that the generator does not generate electricity. 1.2 External ammeter detection When there is no ammeter on the dashboard of the car, an external DC ammeter can be used for detection. First remove the generator "armature" connector wire, and then connect the positive pole of the DC ammeter with a range of about 20A to the generator "armature", and the negative wire to the above disconnecting connector. When the engine runs above the medium speed (without using other electrical equipment), the ammeter has 3A~5A charging indication, indicating that the generator is working normally, otherwise the generator does not generate electricity. 1.3 Test light (car lamp) method When there is no multimeter and DC meter, the car lamp can be used as a test light to detect. Weld wires of appropriate length to both ends of the bulb and attach an alligator clamp to both ends. Before testing, remove the conductor of the generator "armature" connector, and then clamp one end of the test light to the generator "armature" connector, and take the other end of the iron, when the engine is running at medium speed, the test light indicates that the generator is working normally, otherwise the generator will not generate electricity.
How to repair the car alternator
The maintenance process of automotive alternator mainly includes preparation, disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, test and adjustment steps.
Preparation : Ensure that the alternator has been completely shut down to avoid electrical sparks during maintenance. Prepare required tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and multimeters, and wear protective clothing and gloves.
