The engine oil filter element is the engine oil filter. The function of the engine oil filter is to filter out the sundries, colloids and moisture in the engine oil and deliver clean engine oil to all lubricating parts.
In order to reduce the friction resistance between relative moving parts in the engine and reduce the wear of parts, the oil is continuously transported to the friction surface of each moving part to form a lubricating oil film for lubrication. The engine oil itself contains a certain amount of gum, impurities, moisture and additives. At the same time, during the working process of the engine, the introduction of metal wear debris, the entry of sundries in the air and the generation of oil oxides gradually increase the sundries in the oil. If the oil is not filtered and directly enters the lubricating oil circuit, the sundries contained in the oil will be brought into the friction surface of the moving pair, accelerating the wear of parts and reducing the service life of the engine.
Due to the high viscosity of the engine oil itself and the high content of impurities in the engine oil, in order to improve the filtration efficiency, the engine oil filter generally has three levels: engine oil collector, engine oil primary filter and engine oil secondary filter. The filter collector is installed in the oil pan in front of the oil pump and generally adopts the metal filter screen type. The primary oil filter is installed behind the oil pump and connected in series with the main oil passage. It mainly includes metal scraper, sawdust filter element and microporous filter paper. Now microporous filter paper is mainly used. The oil fine filter is installed behind the oil pump and connected in parallel with the main oil passage, mainly including microporous filter paper type and rotor type. The rotor type oil fine filter adopts centrifugal filtration without filter element, which effectively solves the contradiction between oil trafficability and filtration efficiency.
