How to install diesel filter

Precautions before installation

Trucks will be equipped with original fuel pre-filters, usually with a filtration accuracy of 30 microns. When installing Elion cannons, be careful to bypass the original diesel pre-filters. The filtering accuracy of Elion cannons is 10 microns, which is much higher than the original one. The filtration precision of the primary filter, if retained, will not only increase the fuel resistance, but also affect the power.

After removing or bypassing the primary fuel filter of the original car, we need to determine the installation position of the filter. Different from the traditional filter, the Elion cannon needs to be installed at a position higher than the level of the fuel tank. There is no way, and a flat approach is acceptable.

However, it should be noted that when the filter element is replaced later, the fuel in the fuel tank must be lower than the plane of the filter, otherwise the fuel will spill out of the filter when the cover is unscrewed.

Our installation combined with the actual situation of the installation vehicle, and finally decided to install it on the bracket on the rear suspension of the cab. Card friends can choose a suitable location that meets the requirements according to the design of their car.

After determining the installation position, you can drill and fix it. The first connection is the section from the fuel tank to the strainer. We prepared a Yada tube with an outer diameter of 16 mm and an inner diameter of 12 mm. In order to facilitate installation, you can first use boiling water. Burn the head of the tube, it will be easier to install, pay attention to tighten the joint with a clamp to prevent the oil pipe from loosening and air entering.

The direction of the pipeline should be as regular as possible to avoid friction with moving objects. According to the working conditions of this car, we choose to put the oil pipe on the outside of the frame and reserve enough length.

When connecting the fuel supply pipeline, the Elion cannon itself has two interfaces, the upper one is the fuel supply pipeline, and the lower one is the outlet of the filtered clean fuel, which leads to the engine. It should be noted that the two ports on the right side of the filter can be used by default, but two redundant ports are also set on the left side, and the two ports are usually blocked. If it is not convenient for your model to interface from the right, you can use the interface on the left, both sides are common.
