Battery charging and the electrical system on the car need direct current, so the alternating-voltage generated by the generator must be rectified into DC voltage, in order to make the positive half wave and negative half wave of alternating voltage can be effectively used for power supply, full bridge rectifier can be used, the bridge rectifier circuit consists of 6 diodes, each branch is composed of 2 power diodes, one of which is connected to the positive side. And the other one connects to the negative side.
Rectifier diode conduction conditions: a, for three positive diodes , at a certain instant, the highest voltage of the phase of the positive tube conduction. b, for the three negative diodes , at a certain instant, the lowest voltage phase is switched on, but at the same time only two tubes, one each of the positive and negative poles. The envelope of positive half-wave and negative half-wave voltage is superimposed to produce a rectification voltage with small fluctuations, and the parallel storage battery at both ends of the generator or the capacitor of the vehicle electrical system can further smooth the direct current output of the generator.
