1 How tire pressure sensors work
There are three principles of tire pressure sensor:
1. Direct tire pressure monitoring The direct tire pressure monitoring device uses the pressure sensor installed in each tire to directly measure the tire pressure, and uses the wireless transmitter to send the pressure information from the inside of the tire to the central receiver module, and then Displays the air pressure data of each tire. When the tire pressure is too low or leaks, the system will automatically alarm;
2. Indirect tire pressure monitoring The working principle of indirect tire pressure monitoring is: when the air pressure of a tire decreases, the weight of the vehicle will make the rolling radius of the wheel smaller, resulting in its speed being faster than other wheels. By comparing the speed difference between tires, the purpose of monitoring tire pressure is achieved. The indirect tire alarm system actually monitors the air pressure by calculating the tire rolling radius;
3. Two kinds of tire pressure monitoring features These two tire pressure monitoring devices have their own advantages and disadvantages. The direct tire pressure monitoring device can provide a more advanced function, measuring the actual instantaneous pressure inside each tire at any time, and it is easy to identify the faulty tire. The indirect system cost is relatively low, and cars already equipped with 4-wheel ABS (1 wheel speed sensor per tire) only need to upgrade the software. However, the indirect tire pressure monitoring device is not as accurate as the direct system, it cannot determine the faulty tire at all, and the system calibration is extremely complicated, in some cases the system will not work properly, such as the same axle 2 tire pressure is low Time.
2 How long does the battery of the tire pressure sensor last?
Tire pressure sensor batteries can last 2 to 3 years:
1. The tire pressure monitoring sensor can replace the battery by itself. Tire pressure monitoring has become an indispensable on-board electronic configuration for car owners. At present, many tire pressure monitoring devices are equipped with external sensors, and a CR1632 battery is usually installed inside the external sensor. It is no problem for 2-3 years of normal use, and 2 years The battery runs out after a long time;
2. The components included in the tire module of TPMS are MEMS pressure sensor, temperature sensor, voltage sensor, accelerometer, microcontroller, RF circuit, antenna, LF interface, oscillator and battery. Automakers require batteries with direct TPMS to last more than ten years. The battery must have an operating temperature of -40°C to 125°C, be light in weight, small in size and have a large capacity;
3. Because of these limitations, button cells are often chosen instead of large cells. The new button battery can reach the standard 550mAh power and weighs only 6.8 grams. In addition to batteries, to achieve an operational life of more than ten years, components must have integrated functions while maintaining low power consumption;
4. This type of integrated product integrates pressure sensor, temperature sensor, voltage sensor, accelerometer, LF interface, microcontroller and oscillator into one component. The complete tire module system has only three components - SP30, RF transmitter chip (such as Infineon's TDK510xF) and battery.OUR EXHIBITION :
